Hi Eveeryone-I have been reading the message boards very intently and have some questions about upgrading my existing system. I have a Yamaha RX-V496 receiver, two JVC surrounds and a JVC front ,with 2 Nuance Star1-SMB front bookshelf speakers on stands. My first thoughts were to Use A VP100 and two QS4s,but I am concerned that The Nuances may not be up to the challenge sonically(is that a word?). Maybe I should upgrade my front three speakers and replace the Nuance with M22 or m60.? Listening area will be about 11Ft x 15 Ftx 7Ft ceilings. I also do not have a sub yet-so any suggestions would be great. Shawn

Welcome Shawn,
I think you'd be thrilled with the sound of a pair of M60s over the Nuance, though to be fair, Nuance is a decent Canadian designed speaker in the tradition of neutral tonal quality, so I suspect you could use the Nuances with the VP100 and QS4s and get a reasonably seamless soundstage with a good tonal blend.
In your modest-sized room, the M22s would be excellent but you'd really need a sub for added bass extension. A sub with a 10-inch driver, like the EP175, would provide deep low bass with lots of power.
