I'm on a roll today with all these questions. Just wondering if power conditioners make any difference in percievable sound quality or picture quality in your video sources? I only have regular cheap surge protectors on my equipment. Would I benifit from this or not?

You gonna ask about cables, too?
YOu would probably not benefit from this. Possibly in the video arena, almost definitely not in the audio arena.

no, I know cables are just a bunch of snake salesmen. I'm good to go for that, but I might ask again about room treatments in another post that is more in depth about my room. Thanks

I have one that I got for half of msrp. It made no difference in sound or video quality.
It did get rid of a hum problem.

I got a monster HTS 3500 for almost half price because they had just started selling their next generation. I found no real difference in audio, but video improved.
I've also been protected with 3 different current spikes that tripped the safty feature protecting my investments.
Nice way to keep your power connections organized IMHO. I think it was an excellent investment.

We all hang at all the threads, so there is no need to duplicate your posts, this is not AVS.

JH, the power supply section of well-designed AV equipment already does all the "power conditioning" necessary. The transformer, rectifier and filter capacitors supply clean DC for use. The AC from the wall outlet isn't what winds up powering the equipment.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

KEY words "well designed". As most of us here use the better known names for AV, the power supplies are not an issue but I do know that the cheap surge suppressors do not always work and have had a PC get fried by a spike through a cheaper suppressor. I have gone into a couple of shops and questioned the sales men about just how that overpriced conditioner works and just get a stunnd look, I have even asked if I could compare it to a cheaper one, using the equipment on the board, I was declined.
