I recently got everything hooked up for my system. I have M22's, VP150, and QS8's, HSU VF3-MK3 and an H/K AVR 635. I have my QS8's mounted on a wall directly behind my couch where I sit. On the receiver I have them plugged into Rear Surround L/R. Is that the correct place that they should be plugged in at or should they be in Surround L/R on the AVR? I am not getting any sound out of them on DVD's like True Lies or The Matrix. When I ran them through H/K's EzSetup they were recognized and everything went fine. What should I do? Thanks in advance...
Ryan

No, they should be connected to the Side/Main Surround, not the rear. You'll get much better results there. Re-connect them properly, and then run the setup again.

for a 5.1 system (sounds like you have a 5.1 system) your surrounds should be to the side of your listening area, and plugged unto the L/R surround outputs. The reason you are not getting any content from your "rear" surrounds is because there are not alot of dvd's that actually use the 6th channel (for mono 7.1) in surrounds. This diagram should give you an idea of how your setup should be (if you can do it like this, it would be ideal) Now, you can have your surrounds a bit further back from your listening position (mabey 2-3 feet) depending on your preference. But they should be to the SIDES of your listening position if you can. But to answer your question, you have them plugged into the wrong jacks, they should be plugged into the L/R surround outputs.

If possible, you may want to move them to the left/right of the listening area for 5.1 best results, unless you don't have that option.

Yes Ryan, since they're still side surrounds in a 5.1 setup, regardless of being mounted on the back wall, if you meant "directly behind" the couch literally it'd be better to separate them more, at least a few feet wider than the ends of the couch.
