I have the M22s with the 24" stands, this makes the tweeter nearly right at ear height on the couch. Also I have a 51" widescreen TV with the center channel on top. This only made sense to me to have the 24" stands to get the tweeter level a bit closer, compared with 16" stands. I am curious as to why the 24" are only recommended for the M3 ti size?

I think they'll tell you either one will work if you talk to them on the phone. Depends how high your seat is for what lines up better. You also want the center to be close to the same height as the mains.

I was wondering why the SS16's are recommended; I figured that it would take 20" stands to reach ear level on my couch. I have heard that some speakers can sound better when slightly below ear level than above.

Well I got the 16" stands for my M22s and they're fine.. the vertical dispersion of the speakers makes it difficult to tell the difference between ear level and a few inches above. Don't forget that center channels are tilted up or down to the seating position, which makes it less critical to match ear height with the mains.

If it sounds good how you have it, then don't worry about it .

I too bought the shorter 16" stands based on the site recommendation, but have since switched to taller ones. The 16" were too low. Way below ear level, and WAAAAY below the level of the center channel.
