All- Thinking about buying a new receiver to utilize Audyssey MultiEQ function and am wondering if this "could" assist w/2 channel listening or if it is primarily for HT and 5.1 playback? Really trying to tame the highs of my M60's due to being in a very bright room that I've treated all the wife will allow.

Bring on the pictures, I would love to see the room. Maybe we can think of ways to help with the reflections that would please the boss.

Kris, since Audyssey tries to equalize the irregularities caused by room effects for the main speakers as well as the others, sure it may be of some help with just them playing.

Your question seems to imply that you use only the mains when playing CDs and other 2-channel music sources. Using modes such as DPLII to extract the ambience naturally present(to varying degrees)in 2-channel material and send it to the surrounds where it belongs(the majority of sound in the hall reaches the listeners as reflected ambience from a direction other than the front)is preferred by many, including me.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Try hanging silk over the M60's tweeter. It appeared to work for my buddy's Klipsch horns.

I agree. The couch clashes with her shoes.

Is the rug that badly worn, or just dusty as hell?

I love this community, I don't know why I don't post here even more, although I certainly lurk. You can always count on John K to provide the logical, thoughtful response, and then the rest of the gang always has such a great sense of humor.

BTW, Rick I quite enjoy the subtle contrast of the babe in $$ fantasy lingerie mixed with the real world charm of the dirty couch and Grandma's rug....

Peter- Please no comments about Grandmas "rug"....

In her case... probably badly worn.

It also looks as if something was spilled on the rug. . .

Well, I must say, after seeing the comments after that picture, and them mostly being about the couch and rug, you ALL need to get OUT MORE!

You're right. No one said anything about the pillow or the wall-covering.

Or the fact that her expression is saying: "Are ya' gonna take the freakin' picture, or what?"

I had an Onkyo TX-SR805 for a short time. It featured the MultEQ implementation of Audyssey, and I was quite pleased with the sound except that it more or less decimated low bass response. I ran the setup scheme maybe eight times experimenting with mic and sub locations. None of it made any appreciable difference on the bass response. I am interested in how the Pro version performs in some of the new processors like the Integra DTC-9.8, which I incidentally have on order.

Looks like she's going to fall off of the ugly couch onto the dirty rug to me.
