Wow! That's a nice collection you have there. It must be a real treat to nearly start from scratch with so many new components to play with all at once. Keep up the good work.

Hi Eric, Looking good. That little room is going to feel the wrath of all of that acoustic power . Let us know how it sounds.

The room sounds awesome, even with minimal adjustments or calibration. I guess I have a lot of speaker for the small size of the room, but I like it.
I'm having a problem with 60hz hum in the subwoofer when I turn on the video projector. I've been playing with many combinators of cords, unplugging devices, etc but haven't figured it out yet. I have both the Denon and the projector pluged into the same Belkin power conditionor/UPS. I'm going to re-wire the projector to the other end of the house on another UPS to see if this solves the problem.

You may want to read this. You may also want to try removing the ground screw from the back of the sub to see if this helps. Does it hum when you remove the sub cable? If so, you may need to install a ground isolator on your AC receptacle.

Removing the ground screw from the back of the sub fixed the hum! thanks for the advice. Do I need to be concerned with the sub's ground protection now? I don't have the sub's power on a surge protector yet. How important is this?

The sub has 4 fuses (EP500 right?) that will blow to protect the digital amp.

Eric,
You've asked the right question. I don't know the answer to that and I've never asked because I have not removed the ground screw. You need to ask Axiom. And if you'd be kind enough to let us know we'd all appreciate it.

Hi,
I went directly to the source (Uncle Tom) and passed along your concerns. . . There is no reason to be worried. The screw which you removed is completely independent of the electrical circuit it only relates to audio signal circuits. It has no bearing on the protection of your subwoofer against electrical surge.
