Thank you Axiom, for bringing me the first piece of audio hardware that I've owned that I'm actually afraid of. (keeping in mind I've played in metal groups, and own the appropriate giant guitar and bass rigs and effects tricks)

I now live in fear for the day I play the wrong film or videogame and end up with all the neighbors on my doormat with pitchforks. \:\)

Even on its lowest settings (waiting for the new receiver to show up before I do a more formal calibration) I find myself dashing out of my chair quite frequently to gauge it back. There's no cabinet rattle at all, it's just total deep, dark... void.

This morning I confused a low wind effect from Lost Odyssey for real thunder. It was gray and a little rainy out, so it fit... but when I discovered it was the sub, my eyes almost fell out of my head. This thing I'm sure makes sounds I can't even hear, but I can feel it scrambling my innards. If California falls into the ocean in the next week or so, don't look at me!

We'll follow the news to see what happens to California. Enjoy... especially after you get the new receiver and calibrate a bit! \:\)

Lost Odyssey has some really good sound effects.

Glad you are enjoying your subwoofer!

The sub also makes my TV look smaller, in comparison. Slippery slope!

While on the rest of the Epic 80 set, i've left the covers off because they look awesome... on the EP600, I leave it on. I think the cat fears it will eat her with it off. (and I don't know that it won't)

Hey EFalardeau, what pre/pro are you using with your A1400-8?

For now, I am using my Onkyo 805. I am not set yet on what will replace it. Integra 9.8 looks great and at a reasonable price (all is relative). The others (Anthem D2, Denon) are too expensive for my taste.

I am thus playing the waiting game and keeping my ear to the ground to see what the competion will get on the market now that HDMI 1.3a seems to be pretty stable (spec-wise).

I was waiting for nearly two months on a waiting list for a discounted Onkyo 905 and just canceled that today. They must be selling the black 905 gangbusters, I can't find it anywhere! And when people stock the silver one, it's sometimes 300 to 400 cheaper than black. (yes I'm going silver now!)
