The PS3 now can be upgraded to version 2.2
Some of the features added are BD-Live, Resume Play - begin playing a DVD or BD disc from the point where you previously stopped it, even if you eject the disc and insert a different movie or game, and several other features.
Now give me my Master DTS and I'll be happy. \:\)

Two separate numbers.

2.2 is the next version of the PS3 firmware.

As one of its components, the 2.2 release includes the 2.0 BD profile.

Is there another iteration of the PS3 on the horizon? It looks like the only one available now is the 40GB. I would pay a little extra for a bigger HD and compatibility with PS2 games.

Tom,
You can go to EBgames.com and buy a refurbished 60GB or 80GB system. I haven't read anything about Sony planning on doing more with the PS3.
