Rush is playing tonight in Austin and I am extremely bummed to be missing it (I'm on the road for work for the first time in 6 weeks, what luck). I'm a huge Rush fan... I think I own 24 of their CDs. This is the first time they're in Austin in 10 years... *pause to hear the violins playing* Anyway, I'd be interested to hear a review of the show too.

We did not decide, but I owe my wife a concert before I commit to a dude's concert.

There are worse places to be sent than Austin.

Another big Rush fan here as well, was rocking to them over lunch today on my mp3/phone player. I think I was thumping YYZ to hard on my desk and my coworkers were getting irritated..

Newsflash: Randy Irritates Co-Workers. Film at Eleven. Apparently, my tastes are about ten years behind. Thanks to Pandora, I've been enjoying The Offspring among other 1990's metal / punk / emo. I tend to really enjoy humor in music, and consequently have an embarrassing affinity for "Bowling for Soup".

Tom, have you ever tried Fountains of Wayne? They fit into the humorous pop genre. Catchy tunes. I like them.

Sean, I've heard only a couple of their songs in addition to the ubiquitous "Stacy's Mom", but yeah, they and Weezer are pretty cool.

The thing that kills me about Offspring is the recording quality. Definitely reserve their stuff for the car.
Coincidentally, I went through my Weezer collection last weekend. Love to blast them!

I have FoW's latest disc Traffic and Weather and recommend it. I love how they so easily flow between styles.

One of the biggest party songs my first year of medic8ng school was that "keep 'em separated" song. I can still picture it like it was yesterday ... Shockingly, I also am a fan of Weezer and Fountains of Wayne. Slighly further along on the silliness scale, I also like the Presidents of the United States of America. Especially this one. "I got myself a brand new ... tube amplifier ... la la la la la ..."
