From what I understand it simply boosts certain freqs in much the same way as 'Rock'/'Jazz'/etc modes do. I actually use the 'Music Enhancer' mode on my Yammy when listening to internet radio (@128) and it does seem to "improve" on the sound. Most of my MP3s are 320 or FLAC so I leave it on 'Straight'.
