I've already got that on laserdisc.

I wish I had a laserdisc player. *sigh*

I had no idea 'Weird' Al was so into polka because his dad was a polka king. That is a lovely tribute to father and son you've arranged, medic8r.

I wonder if Pop Up Video ever did a Weird Al song? That would be something to watch.

That was Frankie Yankovic, right? I'll check online.

Huh, apparently they are no relation, but in the process of choosing to play the accordion, Weird Al jokes that his parents must have figured that there should be another accordion-playing Yankovic.

I'm thinking so, but can't prove it. That was a good show - haven't seen it in forever!

The Behind the Music on Weird Al was pretty good, too.

Me, I love the video for "White and Nerdy"

My two favorite songs now are "All About the Pentiums" and "The Saga Begins".

So is this a go? So what is the process? Who do we send the CDs to?

I'd volunteer to collect and burn the master copies unless somebody has already stepped up to the plate. If I do it though, I will limit the final burn to 1 track per artist but as many artists as you want to submit. This way I can keep calling it a 'sampler designed to expand horizons to local genres and actually improve CD sales' when the industry goons come to my door. I know, technically, it doesn't make a bit of difference but it's a story I can give to the press.

Would most people know how to use an ftp site if it was set up? Some may prefer to save a buck and do an electronic transfer rather than mailing an actual disk? I could pm the directions and passwords to those whom request it. When a deadline is reached, a disk image could be placed back on the ftp site and disks could be mailed to those who prefer that route.

Hi Murph,

FTP is an awesome idea. I can sign up to copy few copies after FTPing, in return for some more songs :-)

Could be a tad dangerous, lawsuit wise. CD swapping is much safer.

If I had been nicer to Ken over the years, then maybe he would've stepped up and said, "Hey, buddy, no prob - I'll make you a copy!"

But now, I don't see that happ'nin'.
