I was thinking of upgrading my QS4's to QS8's but now I think I am gonna hold out and upgrade my M50's to M60's. Any thoughts?????

I'd hold out for the M60s if I were you. But to give you a better answer, I'd need to know your listening habits and what about the M50s you like and dislike.

If you do more movies than music, then the QS upgrade might be a better option, for example.

Honestly it's not that I truly dislike the M50's. I have had them for a year and I am back on the quest. The quest for the elusive perfect sound. I am approx 90-10 movies to music.

I understand where you are right now: happy, but wanting more goodness.

I've never heard the QS4 or the QS8, so I couldn't tell you how much of an improvement the upgrade would be. Hopefully someone who has heard both can jump in and help you with that.

Whichever way you go, just remember you can't go wrong.

I can't tell you about comparing QS4 to QS 8, but I can tell you that I replaced a pair of $2000 Citation 7.3 dipole speakers with the QS8 amd I have not looked back.

I upgraded my M50s to M60s and M3s to QS8s - I can sympathize. I've never heard the QS4s, but I'd been using the M3s for surrounds and they were fine. When I fired up the QS8s I was in awe - sound came from all around.

I played the beginning of Toy Story 2 and the scene where Buzz is flying through the canyon in the video game, the camera moves to his viewpoint and the sound of the rocket came from behind the couch. The QS8s are mounted above on either side - great effect!

I'd say *IF* the QS4s don't do what I described, I'd lean toward those, with movies, it's mostly music and effects coming out the mains. If they do, it's a toss up. Good luck, you've got a tough decision.
