What kind of speaker wires should I use to connect Algonquin outdoor speakers ? I live in Ottawa were we get tons of snow and -40c temps in the winter. The speakers would be in the house for the winter but not the speaker wires. Wires would run along side of house foundation and then into the basement to connect to the AV receiver.

I'm guessing they make some exterior grade wiring, but not 100% sure. Have you checked some of the home improvement stores? Also, why take the speakers inside, according to Ian they are built to withstand an Arctic environment.

A Google search provides lots of links to outdoor graded speaker cable. I don't know much about it so I won't risk linking any.
Barring those, I'd say that I would probably use a very pliable in-wall rated cable. Because to get outside, you will have to run through a wall somewhere and your code may require that. Also, the outer sheathing will help keep the UV off of the real wire inside it. Pliable, so the sheathing doesn't crack with movement in the cold.
Also, I'd probably use spade clips or something to terminate with, rather than bare wire. Leave lots of spare so as the ends corrode, you can trim them back over the years.

I confirm our Algonquins made it through the winter in perfect condition! No problem leaving them outside in case you put a rink in the backyard this winter (now that's Canadian!)

They're not meant to be used as urinal cakes. Ha. I feel the Burn. I think every vehicle I every owned turned into a urinal cake in my driveway. Thank God I have a garage now. I have spent way too much money modding my newest Jeep to let it rust and die.
