It appears that I will be the pathbreaking "modeler" of (some) Axiom speakers for the CARA (Computer Assisted Room Acoustics) software program. (For more information, see http://www.rhintek.com.) Once I have created the models, I will upload them to the CARA site for others to use, so I want to get them right. I'm starting with the M22ti. Some of the specs I need are obvious (number and size of drivers, dimensions of box), but others are less so. Here's what I need to know. I am NOT a audio specialist, so please forgive stupid questions. Any help will be greatly appreciated by me and all who follow!

(1) Design type: We're talking bass reflex here, right?

(2) Transmission range: The website gives both 50 and 60 as the low end. Which should I enter?

(3) Sensitivity: Same problem. Is it 89 or 93?

(4) Crossover: Am I correct that it is 3500 Hz?

(5) "Impedance response at low frequencies." I found a graph at the Soundstage website, but actual numbers would be nice. CARA wants numbers for both of the low frequency peaks and for the bottom of the valley between them.

(6) "Low-Pass characteristics": Chebyshev? Butterworth? Butterworth low-damped? Bessel? Linkwitz-Riley? Clinton-Schwarzenegger?

(7) "Low-pass order": 3? Something else?

(8) "Q-value"?

Whew! For what it's worth, I will need to go through the same rigamarole for the VP150 and QS8. If there already exist technical papers that have this information for these speakers, I would very much like to see them.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!

Rob

1. Yes, technically Bass Reflex, but look for a rear firing option, as that is more accurate for this modler (if it is there).

2. No clue - ask the people who work for Axiom - heh.

3. Do the anechoic sensetivity of 89 dB because the program takes into consideration reflections and will generate its own higher number later.

4. I belive that's what it is at. (but confirm with one of the admin's here or by phone)

5. figure out those numbers

6. Again, ask the admins or phone them.

7. I know that in the M3ti there is no low pass crossover and the woofer rolls off gently because of that, but I am unsure about the M22ti. (the same answer can go for #6)

8. That is the Q-Value for each individual driver, correct? Well this anyways has to be answered by the people who would know over at Axiom

--> sorry I wasn't too much of a help, but at least I tried, heh.

Rob, on 4) I can tell you that the M22 crossover is at 2,700Hz, but as Will pointed out, some of that info would have to be obtained from Axiom.
