Yet we all continue to take the bait and respond... where is a good ignore button when you need it? Well, first they DO have to be identified at such.... Ignore Button: <ON>

There is an ignore button somewhere. I set it on someone or other awhile back.

I love the sound of vinyl, nothing better in the world, all those sacd supcd, hdcode cd, and the like, can not compare to a good long play record. dont care what all you newbies say abutcd,..its better, yatta yatta yatta....there is no substitute for analog play.
I'm not touching this one with a barge pole

I'm just wondering what the best analog recording format for audio is. Wouldn't THAT be the best source for playback, not an LP?

I agree. When comparing numbers ( bad pun), the digital domain (CD) wins handsdown over analog (vinyl). But sometimes what we like can be totally contradictory to the evidence. And that's just part of being human. What I was alluding too is that in the end, it's a personal thing. This topic has turned into a no win situation (LP vs CD / Analog vs Digital). Our preferences are purely personal. There's no right or wrong. Specs become purely semantics when it comes to being human. Now I need to run. It sounds like my Burt Bacharach has developed a skip!

But if Arctikdeth says it, it must be true. Everything he says is stated as fact.
