I was thinking of going with a Yamaha rx-v863 or rx-v1800 receiver or onkyo tx-sr806 receiver. All three are going for a decent price on amazon
speakers: axiom M22, vp100, qs8's.
Any chance someone has heard these receivers with these speakers and which do you think sounds better. Also any other suggestions is much appreciated

Jovan, any receiver will sound good with Axioms. Receivers don't "sound" different unless you turn on tone controls or other special DSP features. The room and speaker placement is more of a factor that will affect sound.
As long as you pick a receiver that has the features your looking for, you will be good to go...

Even if there were any differences, the tone controls could make up for it. Like Randy said, pick the one with the price and features you want, any one of them will work with the Axioms.

Jovon, as the other replies indicated, we should buy speakers for sound and receivers for features. As to the features of the units that you've mentioned, it can be pointed out that the 806 has the Audyssey MultEQ calibration and room equalization system, which is widely considered to be better at this time than the Yamaha system.

Didn't you mean to say, the Yamaha bites the dust? Just kidding!

Onkyo and Denon are pretty good receivers. I've heard that Denon 3808CI and Axiom speakers are a good pairing.

Denon and Axiom seem to be the most common pairing, overall.

Hello jovon, Any new receiver (even entry level models) from reputable brands such as Yamaha, Onkyo, Denon, Harman Kardon, Pioneer, Sherwood Newcastle etc will be able to drive the M22's without issues. Sound quality differences from these brands in their respective price ranges would be hard to discern in my opinion. Since the M22's are 8 ohm and very efficient speakers, my advice to you would be to buy the receiver within your budget that offers the best features that you can take advantage of. Cheers!

Also any other suggestions is much appreciated I've hooked this setup to three different AVR, two yamaha and one pio (vsx-1018). Both Yamaha are inferior to the 863 you listed. They all worked well, but it depends of your room size.

I think that you will be happy with any of the receivers that you have listed.
