I discovered Harry Manx on Emusic. I haven't had a chance to sit down for an real serious listen, but the two albums that stand out so far are "Mantras for Madmen" and "Wise and Otherwise". He's pretty mellow-after an hour I had to put on some Mississippi All-Stars and wake up, but still pretty decent stuff.

Mississippi All Stars will certainly awaken you, do you ever listen to R.L. Burnside's stuff? Just from his music I bet that old guy was one wild child back in his day.
Thanks for the heads up on the two albums Jorge, I'll have to order them.

R L Burnside, Robert Belfour, T-Model Ford, Richard Johnston and others got me started in the "deep-blues" genre. I actually saw Johnston playing in front of a bar in Memphis sometime back and give him credit for turning me on to R.L. There is now a Deep Blues Festival near the Twin Cities every summer. http://www.deepbluesfestival.com/DBF09_info.htmlBetween having 3 little kids and a farm I haven't been able to take it in, but past reviews have been great for the event.

Blue Rodeo/Five Days in July album....I had no idea how much backing vocals and piano Sarah McLachlan did on this album 'till I just read the credits.

My wife purchased the cd 'Wise and Otherwise' back in 2002. This is a great cd. Harry is quite a talent.

I've always loved that song. Bought a Jackson Browne SACD just for it...
He's coming to the concert facility that I [used to] shoot at...I'm not going to do the concerts this year, but that's one of the few I feel I'll miss...

Inspired to dig out my Running on Empty DVD-A. Haven't played it in a few months. Nice...

Descartes a Kant - Paper Dolls
I was finally able to find a copy of this on CD. It only took a lifetime.
