I avoided it originally because it sounded too holywood. I continue to be impressed by DiCaprio's acting.

I can't believe someone else actually watched these Yeah, I'm surprised anyone responded. I've been a sucker for Jane Austen. She was pretty sharp, apparently. I still have to admit I haven't actually read the books. One of these days, I swear.

I just finished watching the swingtown dvd set, highly reccomended. Not exactly family fare, but a very well done and intelligent show.

I was trying out scenes from a few Blu-rays, including Sin City, Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence, and The Blu-ray Experience: Opera & Ballet (Opus Arte).
The last is a 50-minute sampler, which is a pretty good way to get a taste of Opus Arte's catalog for only $6.95 (price grew to $7.99 on Amazon.com after I ordered it). If nothing else, at least now I know the name of a familiar piece of music: "Aria - Queen of the Night" from Mozart's "The Magic Flute". Those high notes sure are fun.
Now I'll watch another episode of NewsRadio before Letterman.

Ergo Proxy
Anime recommended to me by a friend. Dystopian/utopian themes with robots and what not in a mystery type of story. I fell asleep part-way through the second episode. It's only that I was really tired, though, not that I was bored. I'm actually interested in seeing how it turns out.
