Hey Spiffnme, and other Rotel users,
Have you found any information, about their new DVD player. I'm wondering what chipset they are using, and how it would rate in comparison to the DVD Progressive scan review. I'm ready to get a new DVD player after 7 years, but in my research, I found that they have a new one on the way.
Thanks for any info,
Rick

Three advanced Cirrus Logic/Crystal Semiconductor 24-bit/192 kHz digital-to-analog converters
This could also applied to the RDV-1040
Does the RDV 1060 have internal bass management?
The RDV 1060 does support bass management settings for Dolby Digital and dts playback only. There is no bass management applied to DVD-Audio or CD audio outputs. The bass management applies only to the analog outputs of the RDV 1060, and utilizes a 100Hz crossover for all speakers set to small.
What DACs and Op Amps are used in the RDV 1060?
The RDV 1060 utilizes Cirrus Logic CS4396 24/192kHz DACs, and the analog stage of the RDV 1060 includes Burr Brown OPA2134PA and Analog Devices AD712J Op Amps.

Here's my reply from Rotel. "We are not able to provide further information on this model until it is introduced, which is expected in the near future." They are keeping secrets!
Just wait and see I guess.
