Mine were the $720 pair of M60's. My wife and I looked for about 15 minutes on each speaker and the only thing we could find was a tiny black dot on the side of one of the cabinets and the black dot turned out to be magic marker which whiped right off. I think the Boston Cherry looks fantastic, matches very well with our living room and entertainment center.

At this price, this may be a great idea. This will certainly sound better than any inexpensive receiver. The price can't be beat either.

The specs say 70w per channel, but it is not each channel running at the same time, most likely just 2 ch for stereo.

I lost the link, but there was one that would show the actual W per channel compared to the specs.

Craig,
I know little about receivers/amps/preamps, but it looks like HCA-1000A/PHP-850 combination is a lower end offering from a high end company.
The retail price is $900 for the combination...what is a good on-line price?
Some posts on other sites mentioned some humming problems,at times, do to grounding problems. Any first hand knowlege og that?
Am I right tio assume that there is no way to get a warranty?
Rob

RobR, I have a HCA1000 ($300 used from a stereo repair guy) and it is sensitive to ground loops which cause a hum. I removed the ground pin from the power plug and it's fine. I really should get a power conditioner but would rather put the $$$ elsewhere in the system for now. My old Carver amps were just 2 prong so I figure it should be OK. Good Luck in your search.
