Both links are about the same product:

http://www.amusicdirect.com/products/detail.asp?sku=AARTDS

http://www.tdsaudio.com/consumer.asp

Anyone have the balls (snicker) to try it out and report back?

It's a bunch of HOOEY, BOLOGNA, A LOAD OF CRAP..... you get the picture. A prime example of audio snake oil. Where will it produce the 1's and 0's from to "enhance" with because I don't see an ass on it.. And what the hell is "spectral decay" and "dwell time" ("dwell time"; that is, the duration for which newly perceptible frequencies can be heard).......Bwahahaha!!!

I think that the discussion on how they are trying to rip people off would be infinitely more interesting that the actual product.

I hope someone out there with one of these things (and willing to admit that they have one) will give us a review?

Same place I do. The Music Direct email newsletter. I think the only reason I haven't unsubscribed is because it's so damn funny!

But Peter, the MSRP is $119.95 and your price is only $44.99. How can you pass up the chance to save all that money and to fix your HHS at the same time?

mwc,

Note that it is an analog device, so it has nothing to do with 1s and 0s. I believe that it actually does something, but whatever it is most likely screws with the sound in the same way Bose speakers do -- by emphasizing the frequencies that the human ear naturally favors.

I have no intention of actually spending money on an extremely dubious tweak.

Heh. I think it's got 4 wires in it. In (L)+ -> out (L) + , in (R) +-> out (R) +, in (L)- -> out (L)-, in (R)- ->out(R)-

And then you can hear a dramatic improvement! (It gets better as it breaks in.)

Aw, man, you took me seriously!

I still wouldn't enjoy inserting distortion into my system. Unless my system consisted of an electric guitar and an amp.

Look at one of the studies of distortion I got from Dan Wiggins of Adire:
