Hi!,
Just received my m22's this morning! Looking forward to enjoying them. By the way, they left Canada Tues. morning, and they were waiting for me when I opened my store this morning. Not bad. I was wondering what the best method to break them in would be. Since I am out of the house at least 9 hours a day, should I just leave my FM tuner on at a low level with the bass slightly past center? Or maybe just play white noise? Is any method quicker, better, or more efficient? Thanks for any input!

Actually, with a little poking thru these forums, I found a relevant answer in a post on 5/5 from Alan. Ironically, I sold middle-quality audio gear in the 80's, not the highest-end stuff, and speaker "break-in" was never an issue, I don't even remember it being discussed. So I wondered why so many think it is so important. Apparently, Alan agrees that speaker "break-in" may be an overrated subject. But I can see how a few hours perhaps might help loosen up a new woofer a bit. Any experiences from others?

I purchased M22Ti's and a VP150 to go with my M3's and EP125. Break in time? maybe an hour or two, that's it. I think a lot of that is you getting used to it. Ian does play speakers for two hours or so before testing them. I think an hour or two is more than enough. Besides, they sound terrific right out of the box.
I would advise to NOT leave your system on and leave for several hours. You may come home to a fire, or very damaged equipment.

My M22s arrived about 2 months ago, were excellent when the power was first turned on, and there's been no change since. Since the driver cones and domes cycle over 100,000 times in the first minute of operation, that should take care of any "break-in" required.

Enjoy the music, not the equipment.

Let's say you are one of those people that believe 10-20 hours or so of break in is not a bad idea before comparing them to another speaker....does the volume matter at all? Just wondering....
P.S. I just got my M22s today and they are simply amazing (I can't wait till they are hooked up to some better electronics)
Thanks
