Looks like a call into axiom is in order for the morning. I Noticed my sub was not working tonight.
Checked receiver settings, cable connection, outlets, etc. Opened up the sub and all connections are tight. Light on back is green. When running test tones from receiver there is no sound coming from the subwoofer at all.
Any thoughts? Could it be a bad amp or would the light still be green if that was the case?
thanks.

Here is the EP500 troubleshooting guide. There is a specific troubleshooting section for having a green light on and no audio. http://www.axiomaudio.com/troubleshooting_ep500.html

Thanks. I just checked the top and bottom fuses per the manual and neither one appears to be blown. No clue what the problem is as it was just working a few days ago and nothing has been changed.
I'll follow up with axiom in the morning unless anyone else has any bright ideas.
Thanks.

You can try turning off the amp and unplugging the sub. If its hooked up to a power strip you can also try a reset as well. Also, checking the internal wiring like the troubleshooting guide says sounds like a great idea.

With faulty amps, common symptoms are intermittent popping in standby/on or in some cases really loud pops followed by no power to the unit.

Could be the receiver/subwoofer pre-out . If you can't find anything wrong with the receiver than everything else has been pretty much covered except the amp which still can be the culprit.

I heard a few popping noises during a movie I was watching earlier and that's what made me inspect the sub and find out that it wasn't working. I'm suspecting a bad amp as well but will see wha axiom has to say.

Try hooking it directly to a CD player. If it still doesn't make a sound, at least you've ruled out a bad sub out on your receiver.

Sounds like the problem is the amp, those popping sounds you are experiencing is very typical of something being wrong. A new amp will fix er` right up.
