All,
I have posted this under the Home Theater forum as well, but thought I might get more responses here.
I was wondering if anyone has a thought on the following system configurations:
Option 1:
M22Tis - main
M2is - center and surrounds
Option 2:
M2is - 5 way
Option 3:
M3Tis - 5 way
All options would be used with an Onix Rocket UFW-10 sub crossed-over at 100 Hz.
I was curious how well the M2 would match with the M22s in front. I know about the VP100 and 150, and the QS4 and QS8 for surrounds but I'd really like thoughts/comparisons of these setups thanks!
BTW these systems would be in a 14x16x8.5 carpeted room with the left wall totally opend to a great room approximately 35x20x8.5. They will be driven by an NAD T742 (60Wx2, 50Wx5).

hi sssand2, you don't have to worry about posting in two locations on this board. It's small enough. Plus all the regulars that you're likely to get the best responses out of, routinely check the differnt topics. Good luck!

If those are your set choices, i would go with Option #1.

Hi ssand
You can't go wrong with any of those systems. I'd lean toward option 1, with the M22s up front and M2s in all other positions. Each of these proposed systems would benefit from a subwoofer or two. Although the M3Tis don't seem to get the respect they deserve around here, I think your 5 x M3Ti system would sound beautiful.

My guess, no great controversy, is that option 1 would be the best move of the three. But are the restraints pushing you to bookshelves financial, aesthetic or space-driven? If you think there's any chance you might go with floorstanders later, like the M60s or M80s, then I'd give more serious consideration to option 2, with M2i's all around for now. (Although what the heck, having an extra pair of M22s if you upgraded would be sweeter than having an extra pair of M2s I guess.) I'd love to hear an all M3is set-up also. But your upgrade path is harder from the M3is to M60s ... and so option 1 seems better.
Just curious - why are you xing the sub over at 100 Hz?

Birdman,
Some of the drivers are financial and space. Towers tend to be outside my budget and I'm not sure the room is big enough for towers. The 100Hz crossover is what my receiver does. It does not allow you to set it differently. The Rocket sub seems to be very musical and fast so I don't think it will be a problem.
