Sure; fine article by Mr. Morrison(previously cited here for the blind tests on Blu-ray audio formats)pointing out one of the arenas in which wire charlatans play consumers lacking technical knowledge for suckers

I have two long-term acquaintances that manage mid to high-end A/V stores and on numerous occasions they have admitted to me that these so-called "high-end" high priced cables are items that of all the products they sell in their retail outlet provide them, by a long shot, their biggest profit margins.

Never would have guessed there were high profit margins on those high priced cables.

Cables, power conditioners, screen cleaner, extended warranty and all aux stuff are the products that offer the highest commission to the salesman as well. Selling the big screen doesn't get them jack. Stuff like tv's have little margins tied to them.

This is the best post I have seen comparing two "higher end" HDMI cables. It is not the best translated page from google, but the picture comparisons are something to see. http://monolith-theater.net/hal/?p=2410I see a difference between the images. In the first picture, upper left corner, I see more detail in the "fire" than image number 2. The "death star like" orb shows different warmth levels. Also, the bottom two pictures show ever so subtle color shifts. Do you guys see the differences?

I see he difference but honestly, I don't trust a website like that. This can be easily done in photoshop and this kind of difference make no sense for digital transmission (the reasons are well explained on the article linked on the original post) if the source, display and calibration are the same.

I can't tell is that supposed to be a joke? That test is useless. They used different frames of the video, didn't shoot the photos with a tripod, and who knows what settings were used in the camera. Likely it was just point and shoot in P mode. The camera will be compensating for exposure and color balance. A digital cable will not make a picture "warmer". Absolutely worthless demonstration. How about these images: http://clubneon.com/images/bias_light-01.jpghttp://clubneon.com/images/bias_light-02.jpghttp://clubneon.com/images/bias_light-03.jpgThey were all taken with the same cable.
