I'm thinking about getting some QS8s for side surrounds and I'd like to mount them at about 2'-3' above ear level. The problem is that I don't have a wall to the right of the sweet spot to mount them on.
Would it be better to mount them:
A. on the celing which slants up at about a 45 degree angle. In this case they would be about 9' above ear level but pointing down toward the listening positon and they would be symmetrical.
B. One side (left) mounted on the side wall 2-3' above ear level and about 6' away even with the listening position and the other mounted on the back wall facing forward at 2-3' high and about 7' away from the listening postion. Not symmetrical.
whadaya think folks?

Probably better mounting them on the Axiom stands in your case. Or if you don't like that concept and are only running 5.1 then you could mount them both on the back wall.
One on the side and one the back is certainly far from ideal.

Mike, your plan "B" implies that this is a 5.1 setup without rear surrounds, since you're considering putting a "side" surround on the back wall. If that's the case, and if you're not sitting too far from the back wall,it might be better to simply mount both QS8s on the back wall, separated as widely as possible.
