Anyone use this in their stereo system? Ive had it on my alpine car stereo and I never turned it off. Im wondering would it make that much of a difference in my home stereo.

After reading this review, I don't think it was meant for home audio use at all. If you're into accurate sound reproduction, I wouldn't bother. If, on the other hand, you're an incurable tweaker, then you might really enjoy it. Keep in mind that you'll need two boxes, since they only work on mono signals.

Hi,
BBE tried to push a unit for home stereo use years ago. Basically, it could make smooth, natural speakers sound bad when you switched it in. At the time, I was a magazine editor and after experimenting with the BBE processor, I declined (politely) to review it, as did a well-known engineer and reviewer who wrote for the magazine.
BBE went on to license the technology to various big names, and it may work with really bad speakers (like the built-in ones in a TV, for example). However, I really would not recommend it for home use with good equipment.

The bbe is supposed to add sparkle and punch to your audio. Well mastered audio material shouldnt need sparkle and punch and adding it would be overkill. However it way work well on crappy mixes!=P

Yeah, probably the best application for the sonic maximizer is on individual instruments. I hear it works well for guitars.
