Hi.

I'll be using the QS10 as side surrounds and a pair of QS8 as back surrounds. Wondering if using them against the wall.. will be big of a difference than to have them pointing towards the listening position at an angle? The room is 17.5 x 15 with two rows of seats.

Using them against the wall will look much better than have them at an angle but just checking sound wise.

I second that, against the wall, use the wall to your advantage, as the wall will radiate great sound.

Lots of speakers from many
manufactures...mostly Axiom

Thanks for the info.. Against the wall it is. Now I have a bit of a problem.. In one of the walls I don't have a stud right on the center to align the speaker. It is an external wall so it is not as easy as to work on it due to the insulation etc. Question... is it imperative to have the bracket on a stud? I'll be using the Power Bracket one.

Any advise?

No, it is not. Just make sure no one hangs off your QS10. Enjoy!

BTW, if your rear QS8s actually do something for you and you like them, do yourself a solid and upgrade them to QS10s.

Hey Mojo.. I'm not sure.. as I was using the QS8 for Side Surround on a 5.1.4 system. Now I got the QS10s and I decided to place the QS8 as rear surrounds... and move to 7.1.4. Do you think that configuration won't be good with the QS8s?

I see. I had 7.1 with 4 QS8v2. I could never hear the rears. I tried other speakers back there also including M100. No difference. Maybe it's my room. Then I got two QS10s and 5.1 was all I needed.

If the QS8 sound good behind you, the QS10 will sound even better. My QS8v2 were puny compared to the QS10.

Hmm so maybe I should stick to 5.1.4 and have the QS10 behind setup as Side Surrounds.. that is the way I had my QS8. I haven't mount the QS10s yet.. and I already have cabling running for side surrounds (side walls) and rear surrounds (back wall).

Maybe. I would definitely try the QS10 as side surrounds first. Then add the QS8 in the back and see what happens. If the QS8 sound good in the back, trade them in for QS10 because the QS10 will sound better.

Also don't hesitate to run the QS10 full frequency range.
