Likewise with the laziness...that finish is really nice.
btw...maybe it's just the picture, but you could use a white light switch plate and it would match the ceiling better, no?
Just being nit picky. It looks GREAT!

wife loves the cabinets and grills, and is OK with the install. she isnt very keen on me toeing in the speakers, but she will get used to it.
First off, Very Cool Setup, Dude...!
I understand your pain regarding the toe-in...my right hand M60 sits next to the door that leads into our bedroom...I have to move it over next to the DVD rack and toe it in when we watch movies and move it back next to the SVS when finished. I try to leave it pulled out and toed in when it is not in "movie mode" for better imaging when music is on but Sarah prefers it straight ahead and farther back near the wall...she says it impedes her entry and exit into our room...takes up less room straight ahead.
You can see here what I mean...
I need a different house!
Such is life...we deal, we deal...
Enjoy the music John!

sean- its just carpet. it is a thick, plush carpet, but it was what was there when we moved in. all we did to this room was paint.
if you notice, on the wall below the chair rail, we did a faux leather finish. its basically 2-ply brown butcher block paper that is torn in large pieces, then dipped in industrial wall paper glue, and then slapped on the wall. you have to smooth and crinkle it a bit to get the desired effect, but it dries solid on the wall, and gives a great look. it was one of the first 'DIY' projects we tried when we moved in the house, and it is still one of our favorites.
we have used other decorating techniques in other parts of the house, but this is the wrong forum. as long as my wife doesnt want to put a faux leather finish on the speakers, i should be OK
steve- yes, i feel your pain also. we need ray to pop up with some friendly advice regarding the wives..here in a year or so, i am gonna hit shannon up for new sub, the water heater type.. i cant wait to see how she is gonna react to that!!

Very, very nice, bigjohn!! Thank you for sharing with us.
I like the wall treatment a lot.
I noticed that the front, inside corners of the M60's are a bit behind the front plane of the EC. I know it doesn't seem like it should make a difference, but you might try pulling them forward just a bit to avoid any chance of early reflections clouding the imaging.
Beautiful setup. And your wife is happy too!!
Loved that comment about "the only thing we hold up in pictures is a beer or something we just shot". LOL.
Thanks again.

Looks great!!! One of these days, when I get a digital camera, I'll finally post my pics. The way I'm dragging my feet on the sub selection, that may be a while!!!

Looks great, John. I've got some pix of my setup that I'll post soon. I noticed the same thing as you did. My M22's match perfectly in room light, but the flash makes them look different. Congrats on a beautiful setup.

John,
Awesome setup! Hope you enjoy the M60s and VP150 as much as I do! I imagine the QS's sound great as well.
