I really have no clue here. I currently have m22 fronts and a vp100 center. The temporary rears are from my 5 year old Klipsch promedia's. I'm still in school, so I don't exactly have any huge room to fill, but I keep hearing so many positive remarks about the QS8s, and there is only a $100 difference between the two.
Could someone also explain the recent changes in the QS4 design that make it even more similiar to the QS8s? I was wondering if I ordered from the outlet store, would i receive an older design or the new.

JS, the change made(quite a few months ago which applies to all QS4s, including outlet)is that it now has exactly the same tweeter as the QS8s and other Axioms. The bigger midwoofers and enclosure allow the QS8s to play a little lower and louder, but the QS4s should be plenty for you.

As usual, JohnK gives good info. The 4s should do fine for you, and match up well with the 22s and VP100. To save money, get 'em from the Factory Outlet and save $37.

Could be a long wait time for the FO 4s. The $37 may not be worth putting up with the anxiety of the wait.

Good point, Mike. The blacks are 1 week, maple 2 weeks, cherry and beech 5 weeks. It all depends on his budget, and his capacity to remain calm in the face of adversity.

I have the QS8's with the same 22's and 100. Had the 4's but they sounded a little different, so they went back for the 8's. I bought before the changes were made to the 4. The 8's are great but I would try the 4's first and if you like what you hear then keep them. If you think that there is something missing which I doubt, you can send back the 4's and get the 8's and I believe that Axiom is willing to pay return shipping when moving up in price. They did for me.

Alright thanks guys. Sorry for such a typical post, but you know how it can be when making these kind of decisions

If you don't get the QS8's you are going to be questioning your decision forever.
If you are having trouble already, save yourself the stress and get the QS8's.
I love mine.

How's the VP100 serving you, JServ? How well does it match the 22s? And how far off axis do you need to be to experience a noticeable loss in volume?
I ask because dear old Dad needs a HT.
Thanks.

I have found that the vp100 and 22s match very well. As far as the axis question, I can't really tell yet...due to the dimensions of my current room, I really don't have the system set up the way I'd like, so I have no clue about that one :P
Thanks for the input guys, I think i'm going to go with the 4s then upgrade to the 8s if I feel anything is lacking. I'm pretty sure that won't happen though.
