Good Afternoon,
I'm currently looking at Axiom's products and trying to decide what I need. The goal is to use the speakers as monitors in a studio environment which contains both a computer station for production and a live section (for spinning and performance oriented practice).
As a result clarity and bass are both very important. I've considered other 'studio' monitors, but the quality of such speakers is questionable in many cases.
Though the M60's are large, I think this is what I would consider suitable. My concern is that the bass won't be clear enough, or loud enough.

Suggestions?

Thanks for all the help.

M60's do have very good bass.

Have you heard the Dahlquist QX10's? They're really something else, they beat the Axiom towers, hands down. They also have better bass extension, full to 30hz!

you can get them super cheap right now on sale here:

www.audioshopcanada.com

I'd put my $1000 Canadian to buying those, not M60's or M80's. Just make sure you have a good amp if you want to power the bass fully!

Patchwork,

Thanks for the advice. I took a look at the Dahlquist products and I just didn't feel that they were built nearly as well as the Axioms. In addition they are only carried here in toronto by 2001 Audio Video which is a store full of pushy sales people. What looked like shoddy workmanship in combination with an annoying environment turned me off.

On the other end of the scale, the helpful people at Number 1 Sound sat me down for almost an hour and let me listen to the full range of Axiom products. I decided on the M60ti's and got them at a great price, far less than the QX10's, or 9's for that matter.

A big thanks to everyone at Axiom, and Number 1 Sound for their proffesional, respectful, and kind help. Even when it's a young punk-kid like myself in the store.

Sincerely,
Conrad D. Seaman

hi Conrad,

if you can get the M60's at a discount price, they are the speakers to get! They are the best speakers Axiom is making right now, with the M22's being second (in my opinion!).

The dahlquist QX10's are not at all like the lesser models the company makes. I was told to give them a listen and i was extremely surprised. Their build quality is also superior to the lesser models. However, yes, they are more expensive.

I trust you will not regret purchasing M60's at all!
Happy listening!
