Folks,


This is for dedicated HT setup. Room Size = 22'L x 16'W
95% Movies only.

Speakers: M50ti, QS8, VP150

Sub: HSU VTF-2 MK2

Is this SUB a good choice for my room size. Should I go for VTF-3? Am under tight budget, but if it really makes sense then I will go for VTF-3.

Hmm...I'm in an 11x16 room, and my STF-2 is almost too much. This is a very capable sub, but I've not tried it in a larger room. I'm sure others will be along shortly with more help.

Have you tried filling out This form and see what Dr. Hsu would recommend.

I had an STF-2 in a room about that size and it worked just fine. I upgraded to a VTF-3R, which has a little more punch, but the STF-2 was very impressive.

The main difference betwen the VTF-2 and STF-2 is the VTF models have a tunable port for max output or max bass extension. The STF-2 is $100 cheaper than the VTF-2.

Hey you could almost afford M60s for the savings

Don't sweat the details too much. Whatever choice you make, it will likely sound better than anything you've heard before.

How high is the ceiling, and is it flat or cathedral ?
