Well,
I've started my HT setup. M60's, vp150, hsu vtf3 (on backorder till mid feb), and an old set of onkyo fusion towers for the rear surround. New Denon 3805 reciever.
I had a chance to listen to a full axiom set up in a friends house before I bought. I couldn't be happier with the setup. The axioms sound great. The denon even makes the fusion's sound better than the very old entry level pioneer did.

I was a little suprised at getting a slightly bad veneer joint on the front face of the vp150, considering they are factory first, and this board braggs about virtually defect free factory outlet equipment.

I've got a lot to learn about the 3805 to get a proper setup. For now I'm running the setup from a mic and the autoEQ. I'm happy but will start tinkering when I learn more about the reciever.

I'm looking for a remote to run everything: cable box, denon, tv, dvd. I was originally thinking the sony rmv3100 but I see there is some preference here for the mx700. Can those who have this one tell me what sold that one for you?

Anyway, thanks to the board for letting me gather so much info in so little time.

Hello to All.
Pete

Pete, you should call Axiom and let them know about that veneer joint. If you indeed purchased factory firsts, and not FO speakers, they will probably take care of it for you.

Pete - do a search for MX-700. There are 2 (relatively recent) pretty extensive threads and should answer your question and more.

Everytime I think I am done spending money.....

Am I the only person without a MX-700 (or something similar)? My wife bought me a holder for all my remotes and now this. How do I break it to her? You guys are killing me !!

You're not the only one. I've been thinking about getting one, but I think Bridgeman would kill me if I bought a new remote before a center channel!

John,

LOL. Enjoy the pain - it's sweet! Acutally, it should be an easy discussion with the boss. If she is befuddled by the assortment of remotes, the MX-700 is a fabulous solution for simplifying her life. One button to turn everything on specific to what she wants to watch and one button to totally switch from one thing to another. Great stuff.

OK, everyone. Be very still. Do not look directly at Ray. If you do, you will, like me, be receiving an expensive MX700 remote in your mail without even realizing you ordered it.

I have bought the cheaper consumer version of the MX series called the Unifier100. Cost CDN$110, controls up to eight devices. Since I have an electric fireplace with remote in my theatre- I programmed this into the remote and can now adjust the heat and flame.
Even has macros so I have set up a couple for the wife when she wants to watch TV or a DVD. Shuts everything on automatically.
Easy to understand, works great, and just over 100 bucks!

Ya got another one, Ray. I think Universal should put Ray on the payroll. Or, if Mark got his from SurfRemoteControl, THEY should be paying him.

Mark, please let us know what you think when you've got it up and running. I'll be surprised, once you get the hang of it, if you don't fall in love with it.

MX-700 rep -at-large? Commissions would be nice. . Actually, when you find a drop-dead must have like this thing, you are almost duty-bound to spread the word.
