Anyone familiar with PSB speakers? My father in law just bought some. I'm not sure which model (haven't spoken to him directly about them), but I am guessing the fronts are the Image T45's based on the price range he was looking at. http://www.psbspeakers.com/s/ImageSeries.html
I just curious what their sound is supposed to be like from someone that may have heard them.

I have not listened to the Image 45s but I did listen to the previous generation (eg. Image 2B, 4B etc..) before buying my Axioms. PSB is another of the Great Canadian Speaker Companies and has been well respected for a lot of years. My first "store-bought good speakers" were PSB Beta 2-ways, >20 years ago.
The Image speakers are pretty nice products but I think the Axioms sound a bit more "neutral". A couple of Axiom reviews mentioned the PSB Images as competitors but also favoured the Axioms.
Your father in law got some pretty good speakers, anyways. I liked the 4Bs (last year's equivalent to the 45s) and I like to think their replacements would be at least as good

I concur with everything already mentioned. PSB are great speakers for the money, but they have a slightly less neutral sound to them. I'm sure he's happy with his purchase. I'm also familiar with the last generation of Image series speakers. You can see my thoughts here if you're interested:

Question guys; Would that be slightly less neutral in the Warmer or Cooler direction?

I guess it would be what people here call "laid back" -- very slight emphasis in the bass, slightly recessed in the midrange.

Personally, I'd consider them to be on the warmer sound of neutrality. Probably (although I don't speak from experience) more alike to the M3 sound than M2 or M22.
