Well, after about 6 or 8 months of reading these boards most every day I finally broke down and ordered a set of speakers for myself. I ordered the m60's in cherry along with a HK3480 from JR.com, and some speaker cable from BlueJeans.com. I can hardly contain my excitement! Anyway, what are the odds that the speakers and the receiver will be delivered on the same day so that I don't have to just *pretend* to listen to them?
Thanks a bunch to all the good advice that I've read on these boards, and especially to all those who have answered my questions. I'll post my amateur review and some pics once I've got it all setup. Thanks again!

Congrats Frank, you'll luuuuuuv your m60's and I'm sure that receiver will make them sing to you...are you planning on just music listening or getting into Home Theatre at some point. Do you have a sub?

Congrats on your new system. The H/K reciever is a real nice unit,a freind of mine has one with some Def Techs and it sure does make them sing.I'm sure it will sound great with your M60s.The BJ cables are a real good choice too IMO.

That's going to be real nice. My "good listening system" is a pair of M60s on an HK3270; they work together real well but I think the 3480 would be a perfect match.

Thanks Randy - I'm sure that I'll get into HT someday but right now I was just interested in a nice stereo system. When I go the HT route I'll likely move the stereo into the office and build a complete 5.1 or something system. No sub yet. I like to be able to feel the music somewhat, but I also want it to be clean and tight. If it's lacking I'll add a sub down the road. Hopefully you guys will be around to help me pick that too!
Btw, I got an email from Noreen at axiom confirming my order and her signature line stated that she's been with axiom since 1988. It's great to see that sort of thing, must be a nice place to work. If you're reading this -- Thanks Noreen, take good care of my babies!

Depends on how much bass you like in your music, I like a lot of bass personally. I have the M80's in a 5.1 set up and found the bass to be acceptable to a certain point. But they can only go so low, and then the sub is there to fill in the rest with rock solid bass. Dont think I could give up my sub now.

You will FEEL the music with a sub. When properly calibrated, it can provide a great experience. The M60's and 80's produce great bass, but don't get the real low tones in music...

The Axioms have arrived!
This is mostly just a test post to make sure that I know how to include pictures. If this works I'll start another thread with the rest of the images and my opinons.

You M60 owners are making me jealous. I just may have to upgrade my M22s soon. And I just got my FMS16's too.
