Has anyone tried to run a stack of M22s on top of M60's? If so, how did you wire them, and how did it turn out?
I suppose you'd end up with a 4 ohm nominal load ... is this right?

Haven't done M22s with M60s, but we did do the fabulous M72s (M22s atop M50s). Sounded pretty good, I guess... but we hooked up the 22s to the multiroom amp outputs, so it was still 8 ohm across the board.

I agree with that statement. The two sounded incredible together.

As I am about to move into our new house and , I will have a good chance of trying out this scenario...
We will have to get everything INTO the new house first and try to calibrate in a huge, new, very reflective room...lots of challenges.
Will have to see...
If I am able, I will report back my findings...

I did M22's sitting on M80's if it helps. For a short time I even tried M3's sitting on M80's and M3's sitting on M50's.
To be honest, I didn't think it did much and I thought it sounded odd. The M3's sound nothing like the M80's so that was a bad idea all the way around. The M22's however are much closer but like I said, I didn't like it all. I think Axioms are a little "forward" now, and with M22's on top of M80's it was a little too much for me.
The M50's and the M3's however worked really well together. Very nice blend between the two.
Why, what are you thinking of doing? Trying to run them together or off different channels?

I'm thinking of running them together, off the same channel. A pair of M22 like M55s as a center and a pair of M22 like M55s atop a pair of M60 like M665s. Should present an interesting load for the amplifier.
