I think I have too many songs--need to whittle them down a bit.

Oh jeebus X. She's just begging you to stand outside her window at midnight with a boombox, isn't she? Oh, I don't know about that. She was just making conversation. She just got a new laptop, so she's excited about being able to mess around with her photos again, as well as her music. She started talking about all of the CDs people had made for her, and she asked what kind of music I listen to. A lot of different kinds, I told her, so now I have to make her a CD. The only problem is that I listen to so many more female vocalists than male. People always seem to have a problem with that. So yeah, guys brace yourselves for a lot of female vocals if you get my sampler.

The worst part of making a mix CD is cutting the last song out so it all fits onto one disc. Hellish, I tell you -- especially when you put some thought into how the songs flow together. Gahhh!

So how does this work then? PMs of addresses to whomever you want samplers from?
I started with a ton of Maritime bands of all flavors but couldn't narrow it down as there are so many bands building momentum here now. So I opted instead for a collection of Maritime 'style' music. Everything from Celtic Rock to traditional Celtic, folk, maritime originals, Arcadian and of course some of the best fiddlers in the world today, both traditional and well, the not so traditional. Think you don't like fiddle music? You may not have heard it played like this. If you hear very unusual but hauntingly musical language, that would be Gaelic. Oh yes, I should also warn you there may be the occasional burst of bagpipes, but they are ROCKIN bagpipes.
I think you will find the energy in many of these songs so addictive, you will hunt down the real CDs, thus I can keep to my story of this being an underground promotion of Maritime Music. I tried to keep to versions with above average sound quality, where I could.
If your Canadian, you might have heard some of it as a couple of the artists are semi-mainstream, at least in Eastern Canada, but I felt they best portrayed the trends for our Southern friends who may not be exposed to this kind of music much, if at all.
I could do a 'mainstream' new artist compilation as well from the Maritime s but I'd have to go buy a few CDs. Of course that's not entirely a bad thing either.

Sounds good, Murph. As I've mentioned before, my sister played the bagpipes in high school, so I have an affinity for the "honking vacuum." I'll shoot you a PM with my address.

Got a neighbor you love to hate? Blare the honking vacuums and get another neighbor to flank them with Weird Al's polka tunes...

I've still got instantrimshot.com up on my work computer. On Friday I kept calling employees into my office and said, "You are very valuable to the company." Ba domp pshht.
I feel more and more like Michael Scott every day.
