I've been thinking that the EP800 is one of the best subs around as far as depth of flat frequency response, impact and supposed musically at this price point. Even thinking that maybe a couple years down the road I'll get one or two myself. But, seeing as how there are 279 posts 28 pages deep about repair problems with the EP800, I'm thinking maybe I should look elsewhere. I know that Axiom has top notch customer service, but all of these people having problems is not something that I want to be a part of.

Both of mine work great now. No problems at all.

The problems have been resolved. Was it a design issue or bad electronic parts they were receiving from a supplier?

In my case (and I cannot speak for Axiom), it appears that the caps went bad. So, bad electronic parts for me.

The problems have been resolved. Was it a design issue or bad electronic parts they were receiving from a supplier? Good question. I seem to recall at least some parts (capacitors?) and and entire amps being replaced, but don't know if they actually redesigned anything. Hopefully others will chime in.

I don't have all the technical answers, just have been told that Andrew, the new engineer has pretty much isolated any previous issues and the new amp designs should be very reliable.
