Overview
Axiom's newest speaker is here! The LFR1100 is the brainchild of Andrew Welker and Ian Colquhoun, this omnidirectional wonder solves the problem of typical bipole or dipole speakers: they typically provide incredible depth of soundstage, but images tend to be ill-defined and washed-out.
By using a sophisticated DSP to tailor the response of each complement of drivers, front and rear, Axiom was able to overcome this bipole/dipole limitation to create the first omnidirectional speaker that preserves the spacious sound enthusiasts love, but with the same neutral tonal balance and pinpoint imaging for which Axiom speakers are renowned. The result? 2-D imaging is suddenly brought into a 3-D soundstage, immersing the listener and enveloping your senses.
Traditionally, bipole/dipole designs have been plagued by a persistent problem: the spacious presentation sounds great for a while, but eventually it becomes off-putting because you can't isolate soloists or pinpoint actions. Axiom met this challenge by innovating a way to apply psychoacoustic principals to create speakers that offer the best of both forward radiating and bipole designs. Extensive customization of the frequency response of the rear drivers, working in conjunction with a more subtle customization of the front drivers, creates a seamless soundstage with minimal roll-off at the top end, even at extreme angles away from the sweet spot. You'll still marvel at the sense of the speakers' soundfield opening up before you, but the image detail doesn't shift at all.
"The LFR1100 is absolutely crystalline in its output and the level of detail is just mind blowing. I cannot believe I am saying this, but it is literally like having the artist in the room with you. I know what you are thinking and I have heard that expression a million times as well only to be let down when I put it to the test, but in the case of the LFR1100 and my listening sessions it was true for me. The idea of having a true full-range speaker capable of delivering on its promise was foreign to me, until now." -- Dale Rasco, HomeTheaterShack
This speaker provides serious sound power: the amount of energy radiated into the room from 11 drivers will blow your mind! The front baffle features three 6.5-inch woofers, two 5.25-inch midrange/woofers, and two 1-inch tweeters, with our signature vortex port in the bottom. The rear baffle adds two more vortex ports, two more 5.25-inch midrange/woofers, and another two 1-inch tweeters. If you haven't guessed already, it takes some serious amplification to drive these speakers! Four matched channels of amplification in total, in fact: right front, left front, right rear, and left rear all need to be powered separately and it makes these speakers truly sing.
Included with the speakers is a 4-channel, balanced DSP in a stand-alone case that sits between the preamplifier and the amplifiers. The DSP accepts the main right and left channels from the preamplifier and outputs right front, right rear, left front, and left rear channels for your amplifier. The speakers themselves have a slight outward mirrored angle to the rear baffle which designates them Right and Left.
The speaker has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms, front and rear, and a frequency response of 30 Hz – 20 kHz -3dB and measures 48 inches / 1207 mm tall.

Industry Reviews of the LFR1100 Omnidirectional Speaker
"I have been a musician for nearly 30 years. I have performed at too many venues to recall and I believe that I have a firm grasp on what music should sound like or rather what the artist intended it to sound like and I can say without hesitation that the LFR1100's are that rare breed of speakers that are capable of capturing the very soul of the music.
"The sound stage is absolutely stunning. Several hours into my subjective listening tests and I was still thinking 'WOW! I have never been this taken aback by a pair of speakers. Every song I play is like hearing it for the first time!' I could not get enough music to listen to and it stirred up something inside that has been dormant for a long time now. -- Dale Rasco, HomeTheaterShack

Customer Comments about the M80 Family
Below are a few of the many reviews that our customers have been kind enough to send us.
In a nutshell, you wonderful folks at Axiom have increased the quality of my life by a significant degree. I have always loved music and I spend an awful lot of time listening to it. Now there's just more to love. I'm hearing new sounds in music I've been listening to for over 20 years.
Being a drummer, I'm particularly elated at how well percussion is reproduced. For years I'd resigned myself to the notion that in recordings, drums are relegated to the background, shadowed by all the other instruments, and that's where they'll always be. Not anymore. Snares snap, crisp high-hats, reverberating cymbals, the tenor in tenor toms, and a real sweet spot kick from the bass drum. I'm happy.
Then, from Bach to Hendrix, there are the strings. Ok, now you're not budging from your listening chair for the rest of the day. That's because you're right there, live at the recording. I never thought Jimi could sound any better. I'm thinking Ian used Electric Ladyland as a reference when he designed the M 80s.
Another thing that strikes me is the way the speakers reveal the quality of various recordings; the title of an old Clint Eastwood film comes to mind. But that's not your problem.
So, I'm afraid you're not getting these speakers back. And I may have just become an Axiom lifer. Thank you.

JC and all Axiom Audio personnel: I received my pair of Millennium 80 Ti Tower speakers on March 24th/05 at 13:00hrs. At 15:40 I completed cleaning and connecting my system to my speakers and turned it on. 30 years ago I bought my first stereo system, and when I tested it I had this feeling of total amazement and pride. Over the years I replaced certain components and speaker parts, to keep this original feeling I have for my system. In the past few years my speakers just did not satisfy my ears to the quality sound I enjoyed before. So when I decided it was time to invest in replacement speakers, my search led me to Axiom Audio and when I learned that I could get a 30 day trial period to decide if liked them, I said why not. I did not need 30 days to test them. Within 30 minutes after testing all my components, my feelings that I experienced 30 years ago re-surfaced, only this time magnified 100 times! The reviews I have read about your speakers, do not do the justice they deserve. They are absolutely incredible!!! You people deserve the most praise anyone could attain in the audio world. Thank you all for satisfying my listening ears!!!

Auditioned B&W6S3 and B&W604S3. Those speakers were not even close to Axiom M80ti. Decided to give Axioms a try. Very detailed and perfectly balanced. Very clean sound. Can be compaired to Vienna Acoustic and other speakers within the price range starting $7,000.00 and above! The customer service is EXCELLENT! Thanks for these great speakers! Own them for 3 month and after 3 month they sound even better.

Speakers arrived in perfect condition. I thought the 50s were good. The 80s are awesome. I will not be sending the 50s back however. I found another spot in my home where they are perfect. thanks for the great service and top quality products.
-- John G., TX

I think they beat many speakers of other brands at more than double the price, and that’s saying something with all the competition that there is out there these days. My brother is really happy with them so I’m happy too. So congrats from a pair of satisfied customers. These things rock!

Dear Axiom Audio,
Christmas came early to our house when the M80s arrived. I am rediscovering our entire CD collection, and finding how much I love listening to music on a clear powerful set of speakers. The kids are telling me to "Turn down that music". The entire house sings, I can even hear them clearly in the shower. Here's listening to you,
