Unfortunately, I just don't think that you will "accurately" be able to size the amp that you actually need. There are just too many factors such as room size, listening level, type of music/ movies, room complexity, ect.

So, I am back to the "notion" that you buy the biggest, baddest amp that you can afford at the get-go!!!!
