It looks like they are expanding the use of their new mini speakers to more than a computer speaker, which is why they are re-thinking their strategy.

And regarding the amp, of course it wouldn't have exactly the same guts as the A1400-8, but it can still use a similar design, whereby the R&D would not be as much as the A1400-8, as we know that has been in development for over a year.
