How I was interpreting that was that the crossovers between the sub and the sats were in the amp, not the crossovers between the tweeters and mids. For the second to work, there would have to be separate connections between the amp and each driver.

On the other hand, you would almost have to buy the sub if the crossovers between the sub and the sats were in the amp. Otherwise, you'd be missing the lower frequencies even more than if you just had the sats. On the gripping hand, the sats playing low bass would probably not be good.
