Congrats on having your Dad realize his money is being well spent.

The H/K will do more than fine, I use to run a H/K AVR110 and it easily drove the M60's to clean levels higher than I required. Of course my room is 10x20x8 and opens to a hallway and small office 8x8 or so. If your room is much bigger you may need some extra power but I really doubt it...
