Following up on the previous posts, your room isn't small at all. It's 2890 cu. ft., which is significantly larger than the average living room (2100 cu. ft.).

That said, I could make a case for your using floorstanding towers, the M60s or M80s, as the main speakers in a room that size. To answer your question, you could certainly use your existing M3s as the front speakers with a subwoofer. The only limitation would be maximum SPL (loudness) compared to floorstanders, and a little less midrange detail that is intrinsic to the M3s overall balance compared to the M80s, M60s, or M22s. The advantage of using bookshelf size speakers with the subwoofer is the ease and versatility of placement compared to floorstanding mains.

I'd definitely get QS8s for that size of room. A VP100 is fine unless you'd be sitting farther back than 12 feet from the center channel speaker. The VP150 will deliver greater SPLs at greater listening distances.
