It turns out its a lot easier to turn off the annoying stuff than I thought, but it took a lot of looking. Just turn off the windows store tile. Sigh...

I'm going to install a few flavours of linix in vms on the lab server at work to see what all the fuss is about. I've pretty much had it with Microsoft.

In the tablet and phone universe, you're pretty much locked into someones ecosystem. Apple and Google are no better.
