As for Adobe, they have me doing uninstalls at least once a week because someone did an upgrade and forgot to uncheck (opt out of) the Macafee install.

I regularly bring up the task manager to see what's running and occasionally look up processes on the internet. It helps me keep our systems at work relatively clean.
