Something is wrong. Are there multiple sets of binding posts on the back of the speakers? If so, are the "straps" between them in place?

Your speakers should crank with 10 watts.....

It's possible something shook loose during shipping....but this is both speakers?

Do you have the older speakers around to switch in the Axioms' place (without changing any other settings on your laptop/amp to minimize variables to the speakers only?
