It also has a published frequency response and impedance curve. So not sure the fidelity, soundstage and imaging is similar. Did you compare them against the M100?

I thought the M3s do not have a crossover, just a resistor and cap to protect the tweeter from a full range signal. The mechanical roll off of the 6.5" driver gives the M3s their unique sonic charm. Maybe the new ones have a crossover.
