I live in Dallas, TX and wanted to audition a few speakers. I sent Sushi a PM the other day without response. I feel it never went because the message does not show up in my sent items folder.

So, let me try again...

I visit avsforum regularly and have read rave reviews on the Axiom speaker line. I’m in the process of building my first “true” dedicated home theater and wanted to demo some speakers. I’ve listened to Energy, Monitor and Paradigm so far. This is the setup I am considering:

(2) Millennia M22ti Bookshelves
(2) VP150 Center
(2) QS8 Surrounds (possibly 4 if I go 7.1)
(1) EP350 Powered Subwoofer (possibly the 500)

Honestly, so far, I like the Paradigm the best but they are a bit more money that I want to spend. Energy was okay but the demo site I went to didn’t even have a working sub – so I need to go back and give them another try. However, I keep going back to Axioms for the best bang for the buck and (from what I’ve read) because its an outstanding speaker. These speakers will be married with a Denon or HK receiver – still working on that one.

Sushi (or any other Dallas, Plano, etc, TX) person, would you be available for a demo. Thanks

Steve

Welcome brother. I think you will have a hard time contacting sushi. Its probably been over a year and a half since he last posted on the forum. I know a few of folks from Texas that post here regularly. So just hang in there, they'll come around shortly.

I wish i could say she was mine. Randy, her name is Anna Faris. She played Cindy Campbell in Scary Movie. Also had a small role in Lost in Translation.

Hey, NightStar69, by all means don't purchase until you give Axioms a try. Depending upon your ear, you may or may not go with them but they are worth an audition.

If you ever are on your way to Houston and get lost, finding yourself in Victoria, look me up and I'll be happy to give you a listen. But I am sure someone in your neck of the woods will chime in.

Good luck!

Steve, welcome. Unfortunately Dr. Yanagisawa(sushi)is a very busy research scientist who was an extremely valuable member of the board, but suddenly stopped participating almost two years ago, presumably because it was taking too much of his time. I suspect that to avoid temptation he no longer checks the board at all, but if you should happen to get a response we would be interested to hear of it.

For some reason the board software defaults to not saving a copy of messages you send -- you have to tick the "save a copy" checkbox with each new message or you never know what you sent. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the default. I'm sure your message went out fine; sounds like he's just not checking his mailbox recently.
