Here's something for the Axiom owner who likes to shoot billiards.

That is one hell of a good idea, to bad our Axiom did not come out with them first. Maybe they could make some with wireless speakers built in...

Anyway I can support a company I believe in like AxiomAudio, I'll do it, even if they come out with a widget with their name on it...Nothing wrong with supporting Axiom.

Hey Rick.

I used to make a lot of money playing pool when I was stationed in Newport. Too many rich college kids with too much of daddy’s money, too much pride and not enough brains to know they were in for trouble. I wouldn’t play for less than $100 a stick and didn’t loose very often. I didn’t even try to hustle. I’d walk right in with my original Balabushka. Every once in a while I shoot a few games, but it’s just not as fun anymore when I’m not taking money away from idiots.

Mike the price of the Balabushkas have always kept me from seriously considering one. I have owned a couple of Viking cues and a nice custom that I had made here locally. As of right now I have an inexpensive no frills Brunswick. It's a nice shooting cue but nothing to fancy.

Another plus of me getting my basement done asap, is that my folks are giving us their pool table. Now that us kids have moved on, it does not get played that much. It is like 15-20 years old, but was top of the line back then and has a 3 piece slate top which I believe is around 5/8 or 3/4. The felt is still very nice, but I may go ahead and redo that during the move.

One question? Can pool balls get old or lose their action? I can still get 6-7 rails with them using the old arm toss, however, they just don't seem to have as much english as they used to when I was younger. Granted the cues are the old wood standards that came with it like you see in the bar, so I plan to get some new cues. I called a local place that we bought it from and they said we could also look at the bumpers, but I think they are also fine.

Randy

I don't think that a set of billiard balls lose anything just over the course of time. Now if they showed signs of wear I would suggest replacing them. Maybe it is not the balls that lost "their english" Randy .
There may be a chance that over the period of years the cushions might have lost a bit of there action. Are you hiring someone to move and set the table up? If so that would be the perfect time to upgrade the cloth to something like this or the equivalent. I personally like a bit faster table.

My dad and another friend of mine will most likely move it in my silverado. It is not bad once you seperate everything, although, the slate is still heavy. I could probably do the table top myself, not sure about the bumbers. WoW, that looks like nice cloth...
